Alice M. Bonnen and Timothy J. Wall have become shareholders in our firm.Alice Bonnen received her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and Master of Science degree from the University of Minnesota (Plant Physiology). She received her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Plant Pathology from Michigan State University. Her doctoral research focused on mechanisms of disease resistance in Curcurbitaceae. Prior to becoming an attorney, Alice taught and carried out a research program focused on the physiology and biochemistry of edible mushrooms at Pennsylvania State University. Alice received her Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University in 2004. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Alice is also a member of the Association of University Technology Managers. Her practice is focused on the preparation and prosecution of patents in the biotechnological fields. In addition, Alice prepares and prosecutes plant patent applications and applications for plant variety protection.Tim Wall received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from The Citadel, cum laude, and his Juris Doctor Degree from The University of North Carolina School of Law. Tim is a member of the bars of Georgia and North Carolina, and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Tim has been practicing patent law since 2003 and, prior to his legal career, gained extensive engineering experience working in the metal manufacturing and defense industries. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of South Carolina and a member of Tau Beta Pi. Tim focuses his practice on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the areas of electronics, computer engineering, electrical engineering, and software. Before joining Myers Bigel, Tim practiced at an intellectual property law firm in Atlanta, Georgia.
