Laura Kelley Teaching Patent Law Class at Duke Law

Myers Bigel is pleased to announce that attorney Laura Kelley will be teaching the class “Patent Claim Drafting and Foundations of Patent Strategy” at the Duke University School of Law in the Spring 2019 semester.

Kelley received her Juris Doctor, with high honors, from Duke Law in 2000. This is her second semester teaching a Patent Claims Drafting Class, and she is looking forward to the opportunity to work with students again at her alma mater.

“Laura brings a wide breadth of patent experience to her clients in technologies ranging from medical devices to 3D printing,” Managing Partner Jim Cannon said, adding, “It’s exciting to see her bringing that same experience to the classroom to help mold the next generation of patent attorneys.”

The Duke Law course focuses on patent claiming strategies and includes skill-oriented sessions and workshops to provide students with exposure to practical issues in patent prosecution practice.

Kelley leads the mechanical practice group at Myers Bigel and is also a member of the firm’s trademark practice.
