Myers Bigel is a full-service intellectual property firm with an emphasis on patent law, and is the largest independent patent law firm in North Carolina. Our practice concentrates on acquiring, protecting, and exploiting patent assets, including patent preparation, prosecution, licensing and litigation. We serve clients in the full range of chemical, pharmaceutical, biological, mechanical, electronics, and computer technologies. We are located in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina, which is the technology center of the Carolinas. We represent corporate and university clients located in the Research Triangle, throughout the Carolinas, across the United States, and in Europe and Asia.
Myers Bigel was founded in June 1997 by Jim Myers, Mitch Bigel, Ken Sibley, Mike Sajovec and a group of 12 other patent lawyers. Our firm was founded on the belief that a patent law firm could best represent its clients – in the technology center of the Carolinas and beyond – when structured as an independent, or “boutique,” patent law firm. Our continued growth since then has confirmed our belief.
