Myers Bigel's Electronics/Computer practice has been highly ranked nationally in recent surveys of patent quality. Ocean Tomo, a national patent ranking firm, ranked Myers Bigel second nationally among firms that prosecuted the best telecommunications services patents in 2009. Ocean Tomo bases its rankings on a computer model that measures the strength and quality of patents with objective criteria to generate what is referred to as an "Intellectual Property Quotient" (IPQ). Using Ocean Tomo's IPQ methodology, Intellectual Asset Magazine, in its March/April 2010 issue, ranked Myers Bigel ninth nationally in the Information Technology category, and also rated Myers Bigel 13th overall nationally across all industries.
