Alice M. Bonnen

Alice received her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and Master of Science degree from the University of Minnesota (Plant Physiology). She received her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Plant Pathology from Michigan State University and her Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University. Her graduate and post-graduate research was conducted in the areas of plant host-pathogen interactions and fungal physiology and biochemistry.

 

Alice’s legal practice includes patent preparation as well as domestic and foreign patent prosecution in the biotechnological/life sciences fields such as plant and agriculture related technologies, medical diagnostics, medical treatments, cell culture, and second use pharmaceuticals.  In addition, Alice prepares and prosecutes plant patent applications and applications for plant variety protection.  She has experience in patentability, freedom to operate and invalidity analyses. Alice is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She is also a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, Association of University Technology Managers, American Intellectual Property Law Association, and American Bar Association.  Alice has been included in IAM Patent 1000-The World’s Leading Patent Professionals (2013-2017).
