New Associates - Vernon H. Guthrie, Erin Regel, and Adam Rucker

Vernon H. Guthrie, Erin Regel, and Adam Rucker have joined Myers Bigel as new associates.

Vernon received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, summa cum laude, from Clemson University, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law. As an undergraduate, he participated in a summer research internship with Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In law school, he served as a staff member of the Tennessee Journal of Business Law. Vernon is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and is a member of the North Carolina Bar. His practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the electrical arts.

Erin received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and Biology: Biomedical Emphasis, magna cum laude, from the University of Northern Iowa, and her Master's degree in Biochemistry from North Carolina State University, summa cum laude. She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to her legal career Erin worked as a research technician at North Carolina State University, where her research focused on determining protein structure. Erin is a member of the North Carolina Bar. Her practice is focused on all aspects of patent prosecution and client counseling in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and biotechnology fields.

Adam earned his Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Kentucky, double-majoring in Agricultural Biotechnology and Biology. Prior to law school, he was awarded a Master of Science degree from the Neuroscience Training Program at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Adam's grant proposal, based on his preliminary research into the intracellular trafficking of potassium ion channels, won him a Kirschstein Individual Predoctoral Fellowship from the National Institutes of Health. Adam was awarded a Juris Doctorate from Duke University. During law school, he served as both an Articles Editor for Law & Contemporary Problems and a Staff Writer for the Duke Law & Technology Review. Adam is a member of the North Carolina bar. His practice is focused primarily on the preparation and prosecution of patents in the biotechnological and pharmaceutical arts.
