RALEIGH, N.C.– Myers Bigel Sibley & Sajovec, P.A. (Myers Bigel), the largest independent patent law firm in North Carolina, continues to strengthen its talented legal team with the hiring of Anthony DeRosa as an Associate in the firm’s Litigation Department.

DeRosa joins a team with expertise in district court litigation, licensing, ITC proceedings, and post grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

“Anthony brings enthusiasm and experience in the details of patent litigation, as well as a familiarity with Myers Bigel processes thanks to his many years here as a paralegal,” said Lynne Borchers, head of the Litigation Department, adding, “He is a proven asset among our litigation team and is now in a
position to directly add value representing clients in the firm’s various IP cases.”

Working at Myers Bigel since 2002 as a litigation paralegal, DeRosa had been attending North Carolina Central University School of Law’s evening program, graduating magna cum laude this past May, and has recently been admitted to the State Bar of North Carolina.

Like other Myers Bigel attorneys, DeRosa has a technical background in addition to his J.D., having received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Textile Engineering from North Carolina State University.

“Our attorneys utilize prior real-world, practical industry experience to counsel our clients’ technical staff as well as management in resolving intellectual property disputes surrounding trade secrets, unfair competition, patents, trademark and copyright issues,” Borchers explained.

DeRosa is looking forward to continuomg the next phase of his legal career at the same place where it all began.  “The experiences and knowledge I have gained the last 11+ years at Myers Bigel have provided me with an excellent base as I make the transition from paralegal to attorney,” said Anthony.

“I’m excited about the continuing growth of the firm’s Litigation Department, and look forward to the next 11+ years at Myers Bigel.”
