Attorney Skills

Many of our attorneys obtained prior industry experience before attending law school and becoming a patent lawyer. Some attorneys have advanced graduate degrees in addition to their undergraduate technical degrees and law degrees.

Many of our attorneys specialize in a single area of practice. Others are experienced in multiple areas. We believe that attorneys who obtain patents and counsel clients are more effective when they have also participated in contested matters, such as litigation. Similarly, attorneys whose primary focus is litigation are more effective when they have intimate knowledge of the patent procurement process.

The attorney capability matrix below reflects our philosophy of specialization and multidisciplinary training. As shown, each of our departments has sufficient critical mass to ensure that a technically competent patent lawyer can represent a client.
